Persistence

In real live
it means keep doing something even when it is difficult.

Usually success came as a result of been persistence, but what persistence means.

When difficulties arrive and time get tough it’ is easy to quit the dreams in order to take a less difficult road.

If we need to find a vital element to become persistence we should mention consistency.

As a chef mixing a cake with repetition to get the right consistency you should practice your craft in a daily basic to become an expert. Daily repetitions is key. You accumulate more knowledge and you keep practicing what you have learned.

Engage actively in your learning process. Daily practice benefice you brain muscles and active note taking improve you learning as well. Put in practice what you have learned.

Set daily habit to force you to become consistency even when you are facing adversity.

Been persistence is look for your goals even in the face of adversity.

Marissa Levin define 10 Habits of Highly Persistent People, I list here just six:

  1. Figure out what you really want. Defined your path, where are you heading what do you want to archive.
  2. Constantly remind yourself why you want it. Be constantly aware about what you do is to serve a purpose, the previous steps was needed as well are needed to next incoming steps.
  3. Believe in yourself. Believe in yourself keep you inner peace and practice gratitude,
  4. Strengthen your agility muscle. We have not control over all so when difficulties appears on your path accept it and keep tje ability to move forward.
  5. Outline clear action steps, even if it means saying no to other things. Multitask is a myth. Set up a plan for your desired end state, and stay focused.
  6. Be aware of your own patterns. Conduct a time audit so they become aware of how they are spending their valuable time.

In the next post I will talk about Persistence but in Computer Science and Java development.

The Feynman Technique

There are two types of knowledge and most of us focus on the wrong one. The first type of knowledge focuses on knowing the name of something. The second focuses on knowing something. These are not the same thing. The famous Nobel winning physicist Richard Feynman understood the difference between knowing something and knowing the name of something and it’s one of the most important reasons for his success. In fact, he created a formula for learning that ensured he understood something better than everyone else.

It’s called the Feynman Technique and it will help you learn anything faster and with greater understanding. Best of all, it’s incredibly easy to implement.

  1. Pick a topic. It could be something that you don’t fully understand or something that you want to learn more about. It could be something that you know a lot about, this process will assess your level of understanding. Write down everything you know about that subject. When you learn something new, add to it. Look for gaps in your knowledge and inconsistencies. Are there any themes or principles that act as foundations for the subject? What are the rules or laws that apply in all circumstances?
  2. Pretend to teach the topic to a group of 8-10 year olds. How and where would you start? How would explain it in simple terms?
  3. When you discover a gap in your knowledge, return to the research phase until you have filled the gap and can explain the subject completely.
  4. Simplify, again and again. Use analogies and metaphors where appropriate. Repeat the process connecting the facts and themes. Try and find facts that undermine your principles. This is the process of testing them, making sure that they can stand up to scrutiny. Repeat until you find clarity.

Repet after me 🙂
1. Take a piece of paper and write the concept’s name at the Top.
2. Explain the concept using Simple Language.
3. Identify problem areas (gap in your knowlodge), then go back to the sources to review.
4. Pinpoint any complicated terms and challenge yourself to simplify them making them easy to undestand ( using simple worlds).

Hello !! and welcome to the LearningNotebook by Leonardo Djekki (me)

I love writing on a regular note book over writing it on the computer. I am a developer IT but that do not means I can recognice the feeling a freeding of real paper and real pencil can be defeated.

However the electronic expression allow us to communicate instantianialy and in a more reachable form.

All my note book are far away when I really need it. Having those notes on the here let me make it more accesible for the interested users ( for now just me)

This notes would not be perfect not even good looking, it is mean to be a personal notebook. So I will pretend no one is looking at all. But you are more that welcome to stop by.

There are not best way to practice something that when you teach to some one else, so I will think it material will be used to teach.

Feel free to suscribe 🙂
